What are the best shade trees for North Texas?
The dependable canopy roster: live oak, red oak, cedar elm, chinquapin oak, and bur oak, with Mexican white oak earning ground fast. The right one depends on the space, soil, and how fast you want shade — that conversation is the free part of the service.
When is the best time to plant trees here?
Fall is king — roots establish all winter while the top sleeps, and the tree meets its first summer ready. Spring works with attentive watering. Container stock extends the calendar further for most species; we will be honest when a season is fighting you.
Why do so many newly planted trees fail?
The usual suspects: planted too deep with the root flare buried, watered on faith instead of schedule, mulch volcanoed against the trunk, and circling roots never corrected at planting. Every one is preventable at installation — which is why installation is what you are really buying.
