Pergola Questions
How much shade does a pergola actually provide?
It depends on rafter spacing, orientation, and what grows or mounts above. We design against the real sun path — tighter spacing and lattice toward the west, or a shade-cloth or vine layer where you want deeper relief. You choose the light level; we build to it.
What materials do you build with?
Primarily rough-sawn cedar for warmth and workability, with steel where spans or a modern profile call for it — on engineered footings with hardware rated for exposure. Stained and sealed, both are long-haul materials in North Texas.
Do you build pergolas for commercial properties?
Yes — amenity courtyards, outdoor break areas, and multifamily common spaces. A shaded seating area is one of the cheapest square-footage amenities a property can add, and it shows well in every leasing tour.
